Rurals' Labor Agreement Validated

The judgment of leaders of the National Rural Letter Carriers' Association and the USPS in reaching a collective bargaining agreement last summer has been upheld by a three-member arbitration panel.

The arbitration decision validates the four-year contract (from Nov. 20, 2006 to Nov. 20, 2010), affecting approximately 68,000 career employees and 55,000 non-career employees who deliver mail to residences and businesses on rural delivery routes. It also means that all four of the Postal Service’s largest bargaining units are now under contract through at least Nov. 20, 2010.
